Hunter Roberts Expands Operations, Will Move to 55 Water Street

November 3, 2014—Hunter Roberts Construction Group is pleased to announce that the firm has signed a lease at 55 Water Street in Lower Manhattan and will relocate its New York Operations to a 37,000-square-foot space on the 51st floor in December.

Expanding Business Capacity after 10 Years of Success

Hunter Roberts’ New York office is currently located at 225 Liberty Street, where it has resided since shortly after the firm’s inception. The expanded space with a contemporary office design at 55 Water Street will facilitate growth for Hunter Roberts, which will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in February 2015. James C. McKenna, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hunter Roberts, announced “The World Financial Center has served us well over the past 10 years, but as we embark on our second decade in business we thought this was an opportune time to relocate, expand our office space, and start out in a fresh space that reflects our culture of innovation.”

Sleek, Professional Design with Breathtaking Views

The new office—designed by The Switzer Group—will feature a terrazzo and wood-embellished lobby and conference gallery, more than a dozen state-of-the-art conference rooms—including a 36-seat training room, and an expansive employee lounge. The new office is being built with sustainability in mind, incorporating green building techniques and targeting LEED certification. “Hunter Roberts Construction Group is a leader in the construction industry, known to lead many large complex projects.  After relocating their new headquarters to 55 Water Street, I believe Hunter Roberts will also be a leader in workplace environments,” said Switzer Group CEO, Chairman, and Founder Louis Switzer. By positioning public spaces along key north-facing windows, organizing internal departments around the central lounge, and utilizing high-quality materials, Switzer designers and Hunter Roberts executives have created a space that will help carry the company through the next decade and beyond. “The new space is classic and timeless, supporting Hunter Roberts’ goals of continuous improvement, bringing in new talent, new technology, and new ideas.”

New York City’s Premier Business Corridor

After an extensive search, Hunter Roberts’ leadership team selected the 51st floor at 55 Water based on the criteria that it would provide the firm with better workflow and technology, including enhanced training and meeting spaces. Located in New York City’s premier business corridor, 55 Water will bring the firm closer to many of its prestigious clients in the neighborhood and will grant employees direct access to major transportation hubs. Hunter Roberts employees will enjoy breathtaking views of the East River, Brooklyn skyline and Lower Manhattan, as well as open space at the building’s two unique outdoor commons, the Elevated Acre and Vietnam Veterans Plaza. Hunter Roberts employees will also benefit from the convenience of the building’s additional amenities, the newly renovated and reopened tenant dining space, Café 55, and a 24/7 parking garage.
