When creating a pre-construction plan, Hunter Roberts’ strategy is to identify options and make informed, educated decisions; develop an efficient project management system to address everyday challenges; and achieve schedule, quality, and cost goals. This is most effectively accomplished by building the project on paper, well before it is executed in the field. Therefore, a strong pre-construction effort will lead to the overall success of a project.

Pre-Construction
Cost Control
In today’s volatile and ever-changing market it is critical to have current project costs. Establishing an accurate baseline estimate and corresponding detailed project costs will allow the owner to make informed financial decisions during the course of the pre-construction process.
Constructability
A constructability review is a review of the plans and specifications to check for buildability and bidability. When reviewing for buildability, we check for the completeness of the drawings. This includes a crosscheck between the various disciplines (electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, civil, and landscaping) to coordinate the engineering and installation of the work.
Phasing & Logistics
Phasing and logistics play a critical role in any project. Many of the logistical considerations will drive some of the design decisions. One of our focuses is to maintain existing operations and systems, before, during, and after construction.
