68-74 Trinity Place
Trinity Real Estate tasked Hunter Roberts with the complex demolition of two buildings at 68 and 74 Trinity Place to construct a new, mixed-use luxury residential tower planned for the site. The demolition portion of the project included the removal of a 27-story structure and a 5-story structure abutting three other national landmarks in conjunction with the American Stock Exchange Building. The project site passed between two active New York City subway lines which required lane closures on a highly trafficked exit from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Extensive underpinning and site management were required to safeguard the foundations of adjacent buildings and maintain the integrity of the site prior to construction. The scope of the new structure called for an elaborate curtain wall system and high-end interior finishes designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects.
