Hunter Roberts performed 36,000 SF of renovations and constructed a 15,000 SF addition to Steinberg Hall-Dietrich Hall, home of the prestigious Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. The addition was built to the west entrance of the facility and addressed the demand for faculty offices and conference space, as well as updating classroom technology. The addition features two new high-occupancy classrooms designed to facilitate greater student-professor interaction, as well as 32 new offices for Wharton faculty. Demolition of existing classrooms and the main entrance was required to make way for the new main entry addition. The exterior wall of the addition consists of a limestone faced rain screen and high-performance curtain wall with operable windows and two green roofs.

The new entrance area was transformed into a plaza with seating areas and green space. Hunter Roberts also performed extensive renovations to the existing structure for new lobbies, lecture halls/classrooms, and the installation of new mechanical and chilled beam systems. The project is LEED Gold Certified. All work was performed while the facility was fully occupied.
