Northwell Staten Island University Hospital Medical Surgical Unit

Renovation for a new 19 bed medical surgical unit. Project includes new HVAC infrastructure which provides the hospital with the ability to turn these patient rooms into isolation rooms.

The project will consist of a full gut renovation and modernization of the existing fourth floor (approximately 15,000 SF). The existing elevators, stairs, MEPS shafts, and exterior envelope will remain. The completed Medical Surgical Unit will include 19 single bed patient rooms with attached toilets and showers, dedicated patient support rooms and all required ancillary spaces. All spaces for staff and patients will be built in compliance with 2018 FGI Guidelines. The existing seven story building is fully sprinklered; there is also an operational Type 1 EES system.
