Hunter Roberts transformed the 1.2 acre site at One Theater Square in downtown Newark, NJ into a high-density, residential and mixed-use destination. Redefining Newark’s skyline, the structure includes a dramatic, curved, 22-story glass tower that has become a decisive symbol of Newark’s revival.

The tower features 245 luxury apartments, a 285-space, 5-story precast parking garage, and 15,700 SF of retail on the garage ground floor. 10% of the rental units were set aside as affordable housing for artists. The second floor of the tower includes amenities such as a spa, exercise room, locker rooms, club room, board room, catering kitchen, and outdoor terrace.

Located across the street from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), across Military Park from the new Prudential headquarters, within walking distance of the city’s business district, and adjacent to the waterfront, this project provides an urban lifestyle destination. One Theater Square is one of three development sites adjacent to and owned by NJPAC, giving this project a larger vision to shape a new phase of downtown Newark.
