NYP Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute Improvements

This multi-phased improvements project at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute, located on the NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Columbia Campus, consisted of a series of relocations and renovations. On the third floor of the building, the team decanted office space and then performed demolition and an interior fit-out in order to relocate the faculty practice offices. Demolition and an interior fit-out also occurred on the first floor, followed by the relocation of the eye clinic from the lower level. The optics shop and coffee shop located in the building also were relocated. Cosmetic renovations were be performed on the second and fourth floors as well as at the 165th Street entrance lobby. Infrastructure improvements included hot and cold domestic water risers, perimeter heating risers, HVAC, air handlers, and medical gas systems; architectural modifications were made as necessary in order to accommodate these improvements. The electrical system was upgraded for the new electrical risers and closets throughout the building. Outside the building, the team installed a new exterior canopy and make improvements to the 165th Street driveway.
