Hunter Roberts has been awarded pre-construction and construction management services for NYCEDC’s Manhattan Greenway – Harlem River project. Part of a 32-mile route that circumnavigates Manhattan, this portion of the Greenway covers a nearly four-mile-stretch in East Harlem / Washington Heights and promises to provide high-quality, open spaces along the waterfront to the local community. It encompasses three sub-projects: the first from 125th to 132nd Street, including bulkhead and revetment repairs and a new esplanade / park with recreation areas, pedestrian and bicycle paths, a playground, public art installations, and landscaping; the second from 132nd to 145th Street, including bulkhead repairs and reconstruction; and the third from 155th Street to Swindlers Cover, including bulkhead repairs and reconstruction and high-level platform repairs. The close partnership between Hunter Roberts’ team and the teams from Matrix New World (providing resident engineering, environmental, and landscaping services) and McKissack (providing community outreach services) proved critical to this successful pursuit.
