These two projects, located at Lenox Hill’s 59th Street satellite space, fall under Northwell Health’s design/build initiative. The Poretsky Center for Metabolic Health called for gutting 8,600 SF of space on the building’s eighth floor in order to convert it into a clinical practice an research center for diabetes. The new clinic includes a lab, gym, kitchen, offices, exam rooms, and the Friedman Center- a donor-sponsored lab positioned to become a first-rate diabetes research center. The Poretsky Center’s location on the tenth floor of Lenox Hill’s 59th Street offices was the location of the second project. Due to this, the project was be split into two phases: phase 1 occurring while the Poretsky Center staff is still located on the tenth floor, and phase 2 beginning once they have vacated the floor. Scope for this project included the conversion of 4,500 SF of office space into exam rooms and medical offices.
