Hunter Roberts provided pre-construction and construction management services for the conversion of an existing 1960’s era middle school into a 105,000 SF state-of-the-art, technology-enriched high school for Mastery Charter Schools. The work included modernizing all mechanical and electrical infrastructure with new electrical service and switch gear, new HVAC systems including the addition of air conditioning throughout, modernizing lighting with energy efficient fixtures, and a new fire alarm system. All classrooms were reconfigured to reflect state teaching requirements for the anticipated 450 students. The technology-enriched component required complete A/V teledata wiring and the construction of Science Technology Engineering Mathematics Labs. Other building improvements involved upgrading the existing gymnasium, kitchen, cafeteria, administrative offices, ADA-compliant toilet rooms, lockers, casework, flooring, and ceilings. Site improvements included storm water management and ADA-compliant paving, hardscaping and landscaping.
