Hunter Roberts performed renovations on the second floor surgical suite and third floor ICU/Med Surg suite at Kennedy University Hospital. The scope for the 32,000 SF, second floor surgical suite / PACU / CPD involved nine new state-of-the-art Operating Rooms (ORs) with advanced technology, as well as a high-tech OR that houses the hospital’s daVinci® S HD™ System- a surgical robot. Hunter Roberts also performed renovations to existing OR’s for a new PACU with 14 beds and 13 pre-op beds as well as waiting areas, and a new Central Sterile Processing Department and expanded sterile storage that included washer/decontaminator, ultrasonic washer, cart wash and autoclaves. The scope also called for a 22,000-SF renovation and fitout for a new third floor ICU/Med Surg suite. The new 39-bed medical/surgical patient care unit has two private rooms, one private bariatric room, two private isolation rooms and 17 semi-private rooms. The 10-bed ICU has eight private rooms, as well as two private isolation rooms. There are also several patient lifts installed in some of the rooms geared specifically for post-bariatric surgery patients.
