Hunter Roberts is providing construction management services for a new 19-story, 462,000 SF Specialty Care Pavilion and 158,750 SF 3-level, 275-space underground garage, the largest capital project in Jefferson Health’s history. Early work included the demolition of an Art Deco-styled prewar parking garage at 1101 Chestnut Street.

When the new facility opens, all of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s and Jefferson Health’s outpatient services will be combined into a single building. These include the Jefferson Transplant Institute, Korman Respiratory Institute and Digestive Health Institute, as well as various clinical specialties such as cardiovascular, otolaryngology, rheumatology and urology.

The Program Includes:
– More than 300 exam rooms
– 58 infusion chairs
– 10 operating rooms and PACU
– Six endoscopy rooms
– Imaging and lab services
– Physicians’ offices
– A pharmacy
– Conference space and administrative offices

The building is equipped with dedicated mechanical floors, a mechanical well housing cooling towers and emergency generators. Ground and second levels feature a two-story atrium entry lobby, with security desk, provisions for electronic check-in kiosks, and dedicated elevators for the underground garage, with loading dock and storage areas. A porte-cochere extends to the second floor Cafe, waiting areas, lounge and pharmacy, with a planted green roof surrounding the level’s exterior. BIM utilized on this project. Pursuing LEED Gold Certification.
