ABC No Rio

Hunter Roberts performed the construction of a new, four-story community center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood. After completion, the building includes performance and exhibitions spaces, office space, a print shop, a darkroom, and a zine library. The project is was built to LEED Silver certification and Passive House standards. As such, ABC No Rio is expected to be one of the first commercial Passive House-certified buildings in New York City. Founded in 1980, ABC No Rio is dedicated to nurturing political and social engagement through art and activism. This new facility will be ABC No Rio’s second home.
