Aimco, one of the largest owners and operators of apartment homes in the country, tasked Hunter Roberts with the phased renovations of The Sterling apartment building at 1815 John F. Kennedy Boulevard. The building has remaining fully occupied during the renovations. The Sterling is a mixed-use, 29-story building consisting of 537 apartment homes, 23,000 SF of ground level retail, 91,000 SF of office space, and a single-level, below-grade parking garage that accommodates 125 cars. Amenities include a rooftop swimming pool and a fitness center located on the 30th floor penthouse level. The scope of work includes the complete renovation of 463 apartment units on 21 floors (excluding floors 7, 17, and 26) to include all new interior finishes and reconfigured floor plans. Substantial enhancements to the common corridors include provisions for new sprinkler and electrical services to the apartment units.
