Hunter Roberts provided general contracting services to the City of Philadelphia for the Robin Hood Dell East Improvements project.  The City of Philadelphia has operated the Robin Hood Dell East as a signature outdoor theater since its construction in 1930.  The Dell is situated in picturesque Fairmount Park, close to the Schuylkill River and Boathouse Row, and has showcased the Philadelphia Orchestra and such conductors as Leopold Stokowski and Eugene Ormandy during its annual summer concerts series.

Hunter Roberts’ contract included the demolition and reconstruction of the seating area (5,000 seats) on new poured-in-place bleachers. The new seating arrangement conforms to ADA seating requirements and includes handicap ramp access and new lighting throughout the site. The scope also involved new electric service to the concessions and ticket building, new HVAC and ventilation of the stage house conference rooms and lower toilet rooms.
