New Bridesburg Elementary Debuts in Philadelphia

Winter 2013 — Hunter Roberts completed its third project for the School District of Philadelphia with the construction of a new 30,000-SF elementary school, and renovations to the existing 36,000-SF facility. The Bridesburg School now accommodates 405 students and includes offices, classrooms, art, science and computer labs, as well as a gymnasium, cafeteria, and warming kitchen. The building consists of a steel structure with a masonry exterior skin including aluminum windows with insulated glass units and metal panel systems. Prior to construction, Hunter Roberts performed the demolition of several existing structures, including a one-story kindergarten building. The project received a LEED for Schools Silver Certification.
