Hunter Roberts is providing pre-construction services for the redevelopment of South Street Seaport. The project is comprised of three historic buildings and one pavilion shopping building on the East River in Lower Manhattan. The vision is to revitalize Pier 17 balancing the pier’s iconic waterfront location with its unique ability to provide a much-needed community anchor for the rapidly growing residential population in Lower Manhattan. The development plan features the complete transformation of Pier 17, including enhanced and increased open space on the pier as well as the building’s garden roof, and retail space filled with destination stores, restaurants and neighborhood shops. The design is contemporary yet draws from the site’s history as a bustling marketplace and renowned maritime port.
