MSK Lab Medicine Building Featured in BTEA Panel

October 14, 2014 — As part of their annual lecture and presentation series, the Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) hosted an insightful presentation and discussion about the new Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) Laboratory Medicine Building, currently under construction on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The Healthcare Development Case Study, held on October 14 at Trespa Design Centre, featured speakers including MSK’s Gary Acord, Steven Friedman, PE, HFDP, LEED AP, and Madeline Julian, AIA, LEED AP; Perkins+Will’s Robin Guenther, FAIA; Hunter Roberts’ Senior Vice President and Director of Healthcare Jenny Freeman, PE, LEED AP; and Executive Vice President Mark Lamble, also of Hunter Roberts.

The intriguing discussion covered many topics, including site selection and programmatic design, logistical and pre-construction complexities, ongoing efforts to maintain relations with neighboring buildings and residents, and construction progress to date.
