Habitat for Humanity Efforts Make Big Impact

November 21, 2014 – Hunter Roberts continues to demonstrate its core values “We Deliver” and “We Care” for its community, as staff volunteers mobilized at two different locations to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in November. A Hunter Roberts’ team located in Queens joined with student volunteers from St. John’s University to assist with select demolition at a new Habitat site. The team removed lathe and nails, old finishes, radiators, and windows and even dug out the old basement slab. The Queens house is a two-story house with basement that will eventually be converted into a three-bedroom home. Hunter Roberts’ second team tackled remaining post-Sandy work in one household on Staten Island. This team helped to complete a finished basement for an elderly woman living in the Oakwood Beach neighborhood. The job called for the installation of flooring, drywall and taping, base molding, and door hanging.
