Concrete Flows at 1919 Market Street
April 30, 2015 –On October 22, 2014, Hunter Roberts received the long awaited Notice to Proceed for 1919 Market Street, a 29-story, 455,000-SF, mixed-use residential development in Center City, Philadelphia. The scope entails a 321-unit luxury apartment tower on a 24,000-SF commercial and retail pedestal with a five level, 215-vehicle, pre-cast parking garage. The client is represented by a joint venture partnership between Brandywine Realty Trust (BRT), LCOR, and California State Teacher’s Retirement System.
The Hunter Roberts’ team began caissons October 31, 2014, and completed on February 6, 2015. The concrete superstructure is scheduled to top out in October 2015. The schedule for this project proves to be challenging in that the commercial space will be turned over as a “cold, dark shell” in 12 months and the first 10 levels of the tower (eight residential floors) along with the parking garage and streetscapes will be delivered in 16.5 months. The window wall is being manufactured in China and is scheduled for installation from May to December 2015. The balance of the project is scheduled for substantial completion in June 2016.
